Calling all bridesmaids and maids of honor – this one’s for you! At IDL we’ve always focused our conversation on how to couples can plan their wedding with less stress. But, having supportive and overall amazing friends behind them is a key part to that.
And, we realized that you might need a little support as well to make sure you’re showing up in the best way possible for your main girl. While you can swipe our complete maid of honor checklist for free, today we wanted to share how to plan the perfect bachelorette.
Follow these five tips and you’re sure to have an epic weekend you’ll remember (or maybe not?) for years to come.
#1 – Ask your girl what she wants: You can keep elements of the celebration a surprise but ask your main girl what she wants from the bachelorette. Does she want to relax on a beach? Does she want to dance all night? Does a trip to her favorite theme park sound fun? Get an idea of the type of experience she’d like to have and go from there. Remember, without her there wouldn’t be a celebration so be respectful of her wishes and make sure it’s truly representative of who she is.
#2 – Create balance: Let’s face it, we can’t all hang like we used to. Whether you’re planning a night out on the town or a weekend getaway, make sure there’s a healthy balance between going all out and enjoying each other’s company. Start with something low key and relaxing then move on to the party. End the night or weekend with something just as casual as you began the night or weekend with.
#3 – Be considerate of all involved: The bachelorette celebration is obviously about your main girl, but chances are, she wants everyone invited to have a good time. Focus on creating a bachelorette that is fun for all, not just your bride.
#4 – Create an itinerary: I’m a sucker for lists and itineraries. Whether you prefer structure like this girl here or like to fly by the seat of your pants, having an itinerary gives everyone an idea of what to expect so they can plan accordingly.
#5 – Have so much fun: It may be last on this list but it’s the number one thing you need to do to have the perfect bachelorette. Whatever headaches may have come up while planning, put all of that behind you and focus on having the best time ever. Celebrate your main girl and forget about the rest of the world for a while!
